**At** **Hollyburn Community Services Society**, we provide a continuum of supports to youth, seniors, individuals and families with social vulnerabilities on the North Shore and we’re looking for people to join our team who want to do the same.

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Trauma Counsellor to join our Specialized Community Based Victim Support Services. Specialized Community Based Victim Support Program provides services to survivors of gender-based violence, family violence, sexualized violence and/or criminal harassment. The gender-based violence counsellor will provide one to one trauma informed counselling: assessment, treatment, referrals, and consultation, working closely with members of the Farsi community, and collaborating with other service providers.

**The role is part-time 9 month contract.**

Location: North Vancouver

**Qualifications**:

- Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent degree (MA, M.Ed, MSW) & registered with a professional body (BCACC, BC College of Social Workers)
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant counselling experience working with adults who have experienced trauma
- Training in trauma-informed counselling modalities, preferably EMDR and/or TI-CBT.
- Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication

**Skills**:

- Solid understanding of the best practices in trauma treatment and skills in the following modalities: EMDR and trauma informed CBT,
- An understanding of the neurobiological impacts of trauma
- Excellent clinical counselling skills (both individual and group counselling)
- Knowledge, skills and experience in working with a diverse client population who have been impacted by poverty, abuse, neglect, addiction, and mental health issues
- Knowledge in the dynamics of intimate partner violence and it’s impact on survivors
- Committed to trauma-informed, feminist, anti-oppressive practice and skills to adapt practice to best meet the needs of clients

**Key Duties**:

- Intake, assessment and development of therapeutic plan in consultation with client
- Provide counseling support
- Maintain documentation on client files; updates data base and complete reports as required
- Attend team meetings as required

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 months

Pay: $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
