ChathamKent, Canada Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports Full time

Linck Child, Youth & Family Supports (“Linck”) in partnership with Chatham-Kent Health Alliance requires a Crisis Counsellor - STAT available to start as soon as possible. This is a casual (Standby) position.

The worker may be required to provide services after hours, weekends, and statutory holidays, 8:00am to 9:00pm.

The incumbent provides onsite access at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Emergency Department (ED) (Ontario Health Network service access Sydenham Emergency Department) to mental health assessment for youth who present with emotional/mental health crisis. The ED STAT Crisis Counsellor worker will provide immediate assessment and stabilization services to these youth/family members.

**Qualifications**:

- BSW or Honours Degree in Psychology or related discipline
- registration with an applicable Ontario regulatory college
- up to three (3) months of clinical experience working in mental health with children, youth and families;
- an understanding of and an ability to implement crisis intervention techniques;
- preference will be given to persons with a strong understanding and extensive experience working with other cultures, heritages and traditions;
- a commitment to developing the highest quality culturally-responsive service possible for the various communities that we serve;
- demonstrated commitment to clients;
- excellent oral and written communication skills;
- strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary setting;
- computer and keyboarding skills, extensive use of word-processing programs;
- the ability to communicate in French is an asset; and
- a valid driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle.

For Standby Coverage - employee is expected to respond to hospital requests within 60-minutes (ie) available within 60-minutes from the hospital is required.
