**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager, the Communications Web Coordinator is a member of a high performance Communications team working in a fast paced environment and provides strategic web-based and social media communications advice and delivery for Island Health, including content planning, writing, editing, strategy and support.

Working in consultation with the Integrated Online Engagement Team, the Communications Web Coordinator identifies user needs and opportunities, ensuring content on Island Health websites follows best practices for online communications and supports Island Health's strategic direction. Provides final approval for content posted on Island Health's internet and intranet websites and is a key resource for Island Health staff working on web-based content with the goal of achieving positive web experiences for end users and a positive image for Island Health.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a diploma from a recognized Communications or Public Relations program with four (4) years recent, related experience in web-based and social media communications, including experience with web-based content management systems.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a high performance team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent business writing skills and creation of web-based content and social media communication materials.
- Demonstrated ability to develop content for training materials.
- Ability to contribute in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic website planning.
- Proven communication planning skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with stakeholder and user groups and staff at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with and/or ability to learn basic coding (including CSS, HTML5)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other content development software is an asset.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
