**Position Overview**

We are looking for someone who can assist our Regional Manager with the newly renovated Northwinds Hotel with daily tasks. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for effectively managing and overseeing the operations of the guest services and housekeeping team.

**Salary**: $50,000-$52,000

Full-time

Shifts: 8-hour shift (Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays)

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Human Resources**:

- Promotes the Basecamp brand.
- Trains, encourages, supports and acknowledges of the Housekeeping and guest services department
- Schedules staff and stays within the labor budget.
- Allocates daily staff to a list of duties and room allocations.
- Organize on-the job training and evaluate its effectiveness.
- Ensure awareness of all regarding house rules and not only obeys them but assists in enforcing them; conduct yourself in such a manner to encourage fellow employees to do likewise
- Follow and adhere to all Basecamp policies
- Performs any other related tasks as may be assigned by the Regional General Manager from time to time.

**Operation Standards**:

- Leads by example and supervises daily operations of the housekeepers and guest services agents; assists with cleaning rooms, moving of linens to and from rooms, ensuring that rooms are ready for check ins by 4 pm local time; while consistently maintain high level of service.
- Routinely follows up with staff to ensure that they are providing the expected level of service.
- Works with the Regional General Manager to create and maintain Housekeeping and guest services policies and procedures.
- Proactive approach on guest comments/ issues, ensuring these are handled in a timely and professional manner meeting or exceeding guest expectations.
- Helps achieve departmental goals and contributes ideas for better guest satisfaction, colleague relations and revenue enhancement by providing motivational leadership.
- Collaborates with the front desk to ensure pre-arrival requirements are met in preparation for check-in.
- Handles guests requests and communicates with other departments as needed.
- Works with management team to respond to disturbances in guest rooms, medical emergencies, guests and including overall safety and security throughout the property.
- Oversees all areas of the housekeeping and guest services operations at the property under the Basecamp Properties umbrella, acting upon urgent issues as required and reporting observations to the Regional General Manager.
- Works in tandem with the Departments Supervisors to ensure that there is appropriate leadership coverage scheduled to cover the seven-day week. You may be required to fill in supervisory shifts as needed.
- Conducts daily checks of guest rooms, hot tub areas, mechanical rooms, laundry, storage areas, lobby, and parking lot.
- Works closely with the Maintenance Team with regards to quarterly and yearly maintenance (e.g. steam clean carpets) as required.
- Updates the Maintenance team daily on any repairs or deficiencies to rooms and properties.
- Places all orders for goods related to the operation of the property.
- Meets weekly with the Housekeeping and Maintenance person to discuss the upcoming week and work as a team to provide a quality product.
- Pay attention while organizing pest eradication activities.

**Operations**:

- Help oversees the operations functions of the property, as per the Organizational chart.
- Ensure that rooms/ units are accurate set up for incoming and outgoing guests.
- Work closely with Regional General Manager to ensure rooms are ready for sale and the highest possible revenue is being generated depending on the time of year.
- Audits and reconciles daily labour at the property, this task will be a top priority and will be checked daily by the Regional General Manager.
- Maintain par stock of guest supplies, cleaning supplies, linen and uniforms.
- Ensure cleaning and disinfecting standards are always maintained.
- Schedules and tracks annual, bi-annual, and tri-annual deep cleanings.
- Monitors staff lock codes throughout the properties.
- Inspects and documents repairs and cleanliness of property to ensure optimum upkeep and repair, room cleanliness and overall property appearance.
- Keeps an eye on highway road closures and reports that to the Regional General Manager.

**Requirements**:

- Has hotel experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory/managing role is an asset
