**ROLE PURPOSE**

This position would require at least two years of experience as a successful grant writer, with excellent oral and written communications skills. Capable of balancing multiple priorities effectively. Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to excellence. Capable of working well with a variety of personalities. You are highly organized, able to present professionally when needed, and posses problem-solving acumen. Experience submitting Municipal, Federal or Provincial level grants preferred.

**Location**: Nanaimo (remote work is an option though the role will require in person meetings occasionally)

**Hours - **Flexible

**Responsibilities**

Develop an understanding of the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of the Restorative Justice program.

Research grant opportunities from government and non-government agencies.

Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization.

Submit proposals to program coordinators for approval.

Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted proposals.

Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other stakeholders.

Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.

Draft and monitor grant specific budgets to ensure alignment with overall program budgets and the financial reporting requirements of the society.

**Requirements and skills**

Proven work experience as a Grant Writer/Fund Raiser or similar role

Proficient with measuring and reaching funding goals

Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel

Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources

Exceptional organizational and writing skills

Experience in writing grants is essential, and familiarity with BC Gaming grants, Civil Forfeiture and United Way grants would be an asset.

Compensation between $25-30/hour based on experience.

**REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS**
- Reports and is accountable to the Program Manager or their designate
- Participates actively in staff meetings
- Liaises with outside professionals from other agencies or government bodies as required

Part-time hours: 17.5 per week

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
