**Position Overview**

The primary function of this position is to ensure the smooth, efficient, and cost-effective operation of production activities. This position balances resource management, team leadership, process optimization, and safety compliance to meet company objectives. Some overtime may be required.

**Responsibilities**
- Utilize software to develop production schedules to meet production goals.
- Manage production capacity (including workforce) and forecast demand.
- Monitor production workflows and adjust as necessary to ensure timelines are met.
- Anticipate potential disruptions in production (e.g., machine breakdowns, material shortages) and support the development of contingency plans.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure alignment in production and supply chain activities.
- Identify improvements for increase efficiency, waste reduction, and lower production costs.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork and accountability.
- Ensure employee safety and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (CCOHS) standards or equivalent regulations.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline operations.
- Help develop & monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, product quality, capacity utilization, etc.
- Evaluate new technologies or machinery that could enhance productivity or reduce costs.
- Ensure products meet quality standards by enforcing strict quality measures throughout production.
- Support inventory control to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Optimize shop supply stock levels (working with vending suppliers) to support production.
- Support inbound and outbound activities for timely delivery.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, labor utilization, and cost where necessary.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement.

**Requirements**:

- A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, operations management, or a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing, including supervisory and/or management roles such as operations supervisor, plant supervisor, or similar positions.
- Skills to manage production timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Ability to analyze production metrics and use them to make informed decisions.
- Strong understanding of production machinery, tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to motivate and manage production teams effectively.
- Confidence to make critical production-related decisions quickly.
- Ability to respond to changing production demands or unforeseen challenges.
- Capable of managing complex schedules and resources effectively.
- Expertise in using SYSPRO ERP software and scheduling platforms.
- Knowledge of quality assurance tools and processes.
- Expertise in health & safety policy and compliance.
