The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations (PPO) Services is currently looking to staff the Manager, Interior Design position.

The Organization:
Parliamentary Precinct Operations (PPO) provides a wide range of both client-facing and operational services in support of the work of parliamentarians and the House of Commons Administration. The Parliamentary Precinct is like a small city and, working with our parliamentary partners, PPO is at the heart of the day-to-day activities that ensure that everything runs smoothly on the Hill. These everyday activities and services are enabled, improved, and supported by a dedicated team that, working with key corporate partners, develops and supports projects aligned to PPO business line roadmaps. In this way, PPO can remain modern, unified and maintain excellence in the provision of the services we offer.

As an integrated team, Tenant Operations provides a wide range of tenant support services, including the coordination of logistics for office moves; office planning and provision of furniture and workplace solutions; furniture recommendation, acquisition management and installation coordination of commercially available furniture for renovation projects; coordination and implementation of all signage; refurbishment/minor renovations in occupied spaces; coordination of carpentry, painting, and furniture restoration and repair; installation of framed items; building support in relation to HVAC and electrical and plumbing systems, event management, locksmith services, photographic services, etc.

About the Role:
The Interior Design Building Component (BC) Program team is responsible for the delivery of interior design (ID) and building component (FF&E) services to the House of Commons (HOC) in support of Programs of work:
(1) Major Crown Projects (MCP);
(2) Recapitalization and Campus Projects, Capital Projects and Standards and Guidelines; and
(3) Building Components.

The Manager, Interior Design is responsible for the planning, design and management of all elements of assigned HoC interior design and/or building component project activities. The incumbent is expected to plan and manage the internal consultative mechanisms, the definition and the analysis of HoC needs and requirements, the coordination of expertise to develop HoC design options, and the assessment of their impact on operations from HoC and LTVP perspectives. This includes managing the program interior design and building component requirements in such areas as project staging, functional program requirements definition, concept design, design development, implementation oversight and close out, while also providing ongoing oversight to a team of interior design specialists responsible for different projects, sub-projects and initiatives. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring quality assurance over all project deliverables within the area of responsibility. The incumbent is the HoC representative on various steering committees and working groups dealing with specific interior design and building component program initiatives and deals with multiple stakeholders on project issues.
