The IOOF Seniors Homes Inc. in Barrie is an established and progressive charitable organization providing a multi-facility continuum of long term care and various housing options for seniors.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & IT, the Help Desk Specialist is an integral member of the organization, delivering a high level of customer service and support to internal and external partners.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS**:

- College diploma or University degree in Computer Science or working towards same
- Strong customer focus with a flexible and cooperative approach.
- Organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

**Technical Skills**:

- Understanding and knowledge of Firewall configuration and management, with experience with at least one of the following: Sophos XG, SonicWALL, Meraki, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto
- Understanding of network technology and protocols including TCP/IP protocols, VLAN, VPN, DNS, SSL
- Knowledge of Microsoft Server roles and services including Domain Controller, File Server, SQL Server, Exchange, SharePoint
- Ability to install and support Desktop operating system, Windows, and related programs
- Proficient with administering Microsoft Office365
- Experience managing cloud service hosted on Azure

**DUTIES include but are not limited to**:

- The Help Desk Specialist will provide various levels of support to staff.
- Provide on-site problem determination and resolution in direct support of the following: Personal Computers (PCs), laptops, tablets, monitors, equipment, printers, scanners, rollout activities, software/hardware installation.
- Troubleshooting including Microsoft Office & Outlook within an Exchange environment, client moves, and Active Directory administration.
- Liaise with third party technical support to ensure an array of IT environments and systems including LAN/WAN/WiFi networks, Firewalls, Servers, Storage, Cloud services and End-User support are maintained.
- Develop strong relationship with vendors, technical support, and management with an overall goal of improving customer service, client perceptions and satisfaction.
- Proactively ensuring client business data are being backed up and recoverable.
- Participate in technical meetings, initiatives, and discussions to improve service delivery.

**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must have an original Vulnerable Sector Screening dated within six month prior to the start date.
- TB Testing and a pre-employment medical consistent with the physical demands of the position are required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Expected hours: No less than 7.5 per week
