Canpac operates a fleet of specialized vessels ranging from 150t to 3000t conducting material delivery and subsea inspection, repair, maintenance and construction of marine assets from surface to 6,000 meters of water depth.

**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**:
**Navigation and Operation**:

- Safely navigate and operate the vessel in accordance with established procedures and maritime regulations.
- Plan and execute voyages, considering weather conditions, tides, currents, and potential hazards.
- Maintain accurate navigational records and logs.
- Operate and maintain all vessel systems, including engines, generators, pumps, and navigation equipment.

**Safety and Security**:

- Ensure the safety and security of the vessel and crew at all times.
- Conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
- Enforce all safety regulations and procedures.
- Respond effectively to emergencies.

**Crew Management**:

- Supervise and manage the crew, providing leadership, training, and guidance.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively.
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure crew compliance with company policies and procedures.

**Maintenance and Repair**:

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the vessel and its equipment.
- Schedule and supervise routine maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical problems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.

**Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable Canadian maritime regulations, including Transport Canada regulations.
- Maintain all required vessel documentation and certifications.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Valid Transport Canada Master Limited Certificate (150 Gross Tonnage or higher).
- Valid Marine Medical Certificate.
- Valid Radio Operator's Certificate (ROC-MC).
- MED training
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Captain or Mate on vessels of similar size and type.
- Proven ability to safely and effectively operate and maintain a vessel.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian maritime regulations and navigation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of vessel maintenance and repair procedures.

**Compensation and Benefits**:

- 750/day
- Benefits package, including health insurance, and paid time off
