**The opportunity**

As we continue to expand our team, Altus Group is looking for a Cost Consultant to join our Cost & Project Management division, based out of our Halifax, NS office. You will work closely with the Atlantic extended team, where you will have the chance to incorporate your skills in estimating and project monitoring and simultaneously utilize your passion for design and numbers.
- This hybrid position will be remote within the Maritime region, with the expectation that onsite visits will be completed as required. _

**What you will do**:
Provide a full range of cost estimating services to new and existing clients. You will:

- Prepare estimates at various stages, from conceptual design to the pre-tender stage, within designated timeframes.
- Prepare reports to support cost estimates.
- Review contract documentation.
- Change order review analysis.
- Undertake site visits for processing contractor monthly progress drawdown claims.
- Reconciliation of costs for monitoring reports.
- Conduct research and price checking of items in the market to support the project and cost information.

**You will have**:

- **The qualifications. **You have a degree or diploma in Architecture, Construction or Civil Technology, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Science, or a related field. You are working towards PQS designation, MRICS membership, or Cost Engineers designation.
- **The technical skills. **You can interpret take-off architectural and structural drawings. You are highly proficient in using Measurement Software, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat. Ideally, you have experience with CostX.
- **The interpersonal skills. **You can build and foster relationships with internal and client stakeholders across all levels of construction projects, gathering information and eliciting cooperation both onsite and virtually. You are an effective communicator who can clarify ambiguities and present information in a structured way that makes sense. You can relay delays and setbacks while managing expectations and retaining the client's confidence. You have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
