Business Development Manager

As our **Business Development Manager**, your mission is to secure contracts, develop winning proposals, build strong relationships within the government sector, and proactively commit to business development. If you’re an expert in navigating government procurement processes, identifying opportunities, and driving business growth this role is for you.
You will be a massive contributor to growing an Indigenous-owned startup specializing in government procurement across three key areas**:technology** (IT hardware, software, and cybersecurity), **recruitment** (staffing and temp help), and **training**. You must be similar in our passion to grow fast and scale large. You will be a core member of the team and compensated equally as the organization grows.
- **Responsibilities**_
**Government Sales & Contracts**
- **Bid & Proposal Development**: Lead the end-to-end process of preparing, submitting, and winning government bids, tenders, and RFPs, TBIPS, TSPS, ProServices, CAITTS, etc.
- **Contract Management**: Negotiate and manage government contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement requirements and timelines.
- **Opportunity Identification**: Monitor government portals and procurement databases to identify new opportunities for training and technology services.
- **Strategic Positioning**: Develop and execute strategies to position TalosTech.ca / TrueTraining.ca as a trusted partner for government projects.
**Business Development**
- **Government Relations**: Build and maintain relationships with procurement officers, department leaders, and other key decision-makers.
- **Indigenous Partnerships**: Leverage our Indigenous-owned status to align with government procurement goals, including supplier diversity programs.
- **Client Advocacy**: Act as the primary point of contact for government clients, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed effectively.
**Strategic Growth & Partnerships**
- **Partnership Development**: Identify and cultivate partnerships with government agencies, manufacturers and suppliers, and other key stakeholders to enhance our presence and impact.
- **Growth Strategy**: Lead efforts to expand TrueTraining’s footprint through strategic alliances and targeted growth initiatives.
- **Performance Metrics**: Track bid success rates, contract renewals, and revenue generated from government projects, providing actionable insights for improvement.
**Collaboration & Leadership**
- **Internal Alignment**: Collaborate with internal teams to align training programs with the unique needs of government clients.
- **Team Support**: Provide guidance on bid strategies, compliance requirements, and client communication to ensure success across the organization.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Drive process improvements in bid submissions, contract management, and client engagement to streamline operations.
**Preferred Experience**
- Demonstrated success in **government sales**, **bids**, **tenders**, or **procurement** processes.
- Strong understanding of **federal, provincial, and municipal procurement practices**, including RFPs and RFQs.
- Experience in government industries like **training**, **software, hardware, staffing, AI** is a plus.
- Exceptional writing skills to craft clear, compelling, and compliant proposals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with competing priorities.

Pay: $73,320.00-$89,856.00 per year
