**Job Title: Bookkeeper**
**Location: 740 Oval Court, Burlington, Ontario.**
**Employment Type: Full-time**
**Reports to: Finance Manager/Accountant**
**Job Overview**:
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including tracking transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and preparing financial reports. The role requires a strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and knowledge of bookkeeping practices. The Bookkeeper ensures that the company’s financial data is up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Record Transactions**: Accurately record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, in accounting software.
- **Accounts Payable & Receivable**: Manage vendor payments and customer invoices, track outstanding payments, and ensure timely collections.
- **Bank Reconciliation**: Reconcile bank and credit card statements with internal records to ensure accuracy.
- **Expense Tracking**: Monitor and categorize business expenses, ensuring proper documentation for each transaction.
- **Financial Reporting**: Prepare financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for review by management or accountants.
- **Payroll Processing**: Assist with payroll calculations, ensuring accuracy in employee wages, deductions, and benefits.
- **Tax Filings Support**: Assist with preparation and submission of tax filings (e.g., GST/HST, payroll taxes).
- **Data Entry**: Maintain up-to-date financial data and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of financial information.
- **Compliance**: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and company policies.
- **Assist with Audits**: Provide necessary documentation and support for internal or external audits.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma or certification in accounting, bookkeeping, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
**Preferred Skills**:
- Experience with payroll and tax preparation.
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian financial regulations (for Canadian companies).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
**Work Conditions**:
- Office-based.
- Standard work hours, with potential for additional hours during month-end or year-end reporting periods.
