Die-cut Machine Operator

**Job description**

The Die-Cut Machine Operator is responsible for operating die cutters to fulfill the die cut requirements and meet the customer’s needs and expectations while maintaining the highest level of quality and productivity.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Utilize machinery or equipment to produce orders.
- Process manual assembly in accordance with the instructions.
- Read and comprehend the docket's instructions and requirements and ask for clarification or advice as needed.
- Setting up, running, and using the die cutting machine in accordance with the necessary specifications and criteria
- Enter the proper configuration in accordance with the conditions and needs of the work.
- Find the right task order, then load it into the machine's feeding end.
- Obtain the necessary dies and other supplies, inspecting them for damage or problems as you go.
- Visually check the work for flaws and make any necessary adjustments.
- Jobs should be packaged, work orders should be completed, tickets should be printed, and delivery receipts should be placed where they go.
- Keep track of your work/job information by entering it on an activity sheet.
- Conduct minor repairs, routine maintenance, and troubleshoot problems.
- Use the allotted machinery or equipment in line with the operating instructions.
- Control and modify the machine's parameters as necessary.
- Continually stay informed on safety gear.
- Accountable for the equipment/setup machines and cleaning.
- Investigate any potential problems and/or report them to the team lead or bindery supervisor.
- Any quantity or quality problems should be reported to the team lead or bindery supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, secure, and organized environment for both the machine and the surrounding area.

**EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE**:

- GED or high school diploma with work experience or a technical or trade certification
- possess a thorough understanding of every aspect of die cutting.
- An asset is previous print expertise or experience.
- An asset is prior machine-operational experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills, such as the ability to work effectively with others, communicate, and maintain a positive attitude
- Simple computer abilities
- Good verbal, mathematical, and writing skills.
- good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Capable of working both individually and as a team member.
- Able to set up and maintain machines according to published instructions.
- Faithfulness to schedule, punctuality, and concentration on the job area.
- Meet or surpass the mínimal test scores required by the hiring manager.

**CORE COMPETENCIES**:

- Standing continuously for up to eight hours or more each day.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. of weight on a regular basis.
- It is necessary to frequently push, pull, raise, bend, and twist.
- There might be air conditioning and fluorescent lighting in the workspace.
- Normal noise levels range from moderate to loud.
- exposure to airborne particles like paper dust and drying powder as well as chemical and ink fumes.
- The company's image must always be represented via appearance.
- A fast-paced atmosphere where there are frequently changing priorities, schedules, and activities.
- Operational needs can necessitate additional hours.

**Salary**: $21 per hour

- Afternoon (3 PM to 11:30 PM)
