Draftsperson

Innotech Windows + Doors is a leading window and door manufacturer located in Langley (Gloucester Industrial Estates), BC. Since our inception in 2001, we have grown to be an integral player in the high-end North American window and door industry.

Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the Draftsperson is responsible for creating designs, drawings, details and contract documents specific to the fenestration industry.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing
- Create 2D drawings of our custom products as required for our ERP system
- Check drawings for conformance to standards and design requirements
- Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with CAD systems
- Work with sales and quotations team to ensure all quotation drawings are accurately prepared on time
- Manage files on projects at various stages while monitoring the progress and coordinating with key stakeholders throughout the life of the project
- Communicate as needed with Project manager, clients and cross-functional teams to coordinate efforts and resolve issues
- Organize, create and collect shop drawings and required product detail information
- Interpret technical specifications and shop drawings (blueprints, drawings, instructions, spec sheets)
- Ensure final designs are compliant with building regulations and codes
- Identify and communicate design problems to the team
- Maintain files and records of all drawings in our systems
- Perform other related duties

**Skills & Qualifications**:

- Must possess a diploma or certificate in design and drafting technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience working with construction drawings
- A high level of competency in AutoCAD 2D & 3D is a must
- Experience using Solid Works and Inventor preferred
- Ability to learn and understand technical requirements for windows and doors
- Ability to read and interpret shop and construction drawings
- Building envelope knowledge preferred
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
- Solid mathematical skills
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Effective time management skills
- Must have a positive attitude and take initiative
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
- Sense of urgency to identify and resolve issues
- Ability to stay organized
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
