Commercial Property Examiner

**Opportunity**:
**As a Commercial Examiner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate claims processing for commercial property-related incidents. You will work closely with policyholders, independent adjusters (IA), third-party vendors, and internal stakeholders to assess and determine the extent of property damage, evaluate coverage, and negotiate settlements.**:
**What you will be doing**:

- **Collaborate with various parties, including policyholders, IA’s and contractors, to gather relevant information and assess property damage accurately.**:

- **Review and evaluate IA reports for commercial property insurance claims and assess coverage, liability, and extent of damage or loss.**:

- **Analyze policy coverage to determine the scope of insurance claims, while seeking opportunities to subrogate.**:

- **Verify the validity of claims and escalate any potentially fraudulent claims.**:

- **Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, claim assessments, and recommended settlement and reserve amounts.**:

- **Negotiate settlements with policyholders, maintaining a balance between company guidelines and customer satisfaction.**:

- **Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal company policies throughout the claims process.**:

- **Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documentation, and reports in accordance with company guidelines and industry standards.**:

- **Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and addressing concerns from claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders.**:

- **Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in claims management.**:
**What you bring to the team**:

- **Minimum of two (2) years of commercial property claims examination experience.**:

- **Post-secondary education and/or CIP designation are considered an asset.**:

- **Strong knowledge of property insurance policies, coverage, and claims procedures.**:

- **Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with claimants, policyholders and legal representatives.**:

- **Proficient computer skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite.**:

- **Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions.**:

- **High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks.**:

- **High degree of emotional intelligence and empathy.**:

**In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to conduct meticulous and timely assessments of commercial property insurance claims, skillfully negotiating equitable settlements, and fostering seamless collaboration with policyholders, contractors and IA’s to uphold the company's standards of excellence in claims management.**:
