**The purpose of this position is**:

- Support the Delivery of Food Security Programs for residents of the Curve Lake community in accordance with Policy and the Administrative procedures of Curve Lake First Nation

**Duties**:
**The duties and responsibilities of this position are categorized into seven main functions**:

- Responsibilities
- At the direction of the Social Services Administrator and as needed schedule pick-up and delivery of Food from Kawartha Food Share and other agencies and suppliers as required
- Distribute food products/boxes to community members
- Stock shelves for distribution
- Bag and box bulk food items as required
- In the absence of the foodbank coordinator and at the direction of the Social Services Administrator maintain intake forms and client files for community members accessing food bank
- Advocate for Curve Lake First Nation and Liaise with City and County Food Bank Programs to develop and foster good relations and supportive relationships
- Assist in the preparation of monthly calendars for and food distribution
- Assist with community gardening programs
- Communication
- Network with Communication Officer to promote Food Bank Programs and services in Community Newsletter or CLFN Social Media
- Network with Kawartha Food Share Committee Members
- Network with Education/Employment/Ontario Works for volunteer, school placements, summer employment
- Food Distribution
- Ensure fair distribution of food to all clients
- Ensure clients are treated with respect, dignity and without judgment
- Administrative
- Ensure Leave Reports are submitted to Supervisor in a timely manner
- Assist in preparation of Food Bank statistical data for the Ontario Works Administrator
- Maintain inventory of Food Bank supplies for clients
- Respond to general telephone enquiries and in person client enquiries

**Qualifications**:Basic Requirements**: (APPLICANTS MUST SHOW NECESSARY PROOF WITH APPLICATION OR WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY SCREENED OUT)**

**Education**:

- Successful completion of Grade 12 or comparable educational experience
- Certification in Food Handling or willing to acquire

**Other**:

- CPIC Required
- Ability to repetitively lift up to 40lbs on a regular basis while loading and unloading vehicles and pantry shelves

**RATED REQUIREMENTS**:
**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**:

- Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Outlook)
- Proficient use of the English Language
- Be empathetic to the needs and interests of the client
- Able to maintain client files, reports, Food Bank and Just Food policies
- Be reliable to contribute to an effective team approach within Social Services
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently in a remote building
- Be creative and resourceful in referrals or approaches to helping clients
