The Employment Placement Coordinator is responsible for provding job development and coaching support to people with diverse abilities. This role trains and mentors Winnifred Stewart employees who are supporting individuals seeking employment, to meet the goals of the Joey Moss Memorial Fund (JMFF) Employment Program.

This role is to create, foster, and support employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for adults with diverse abilities, providing a broad range of general and often specialized employment suppot and advocacy.

Reporting directly to the Director of Community Opportunities, the Employment Placement Coordinator should have a genuine appreciation for and an understanding of the Community Diisability Services sector, protocol, discretion and profesionalism.

**This is a 3-month term position with the possibility of extension or permanency.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Create and implement the JMMF Employment Readiness Program, to provide participants with the knowledge and skills they need to begin seeking successful employment.
- Research possibilities and identify a range of opportunities for inclusion of individuals with developmental disabilities in the workplace
- Provide employment support services to individuals with developmental disabilities within Winnifred Stewart Association; including but not limited to employability and skills assessments, employment preparedness training, job carving and job coaching
- Provide training and support to WSA direct support staff to facilitate successful employment and entrepreneurship experiences which includes job preparation, job carving and job coaching
- Support employers who wish to create more inclusive workplaces and provide services and assistance to help create positions within their business for people with developmental disabilities
- Complete service requests and client profile management for new intakes to employment programs
- Complete employment placement reporting requirements to maintain compliance with funding agreements
- Supports the successful integration and independence of individuals in the work environment by assisting individuals in developing work skills and fostering the development of natural supports
- Monitors and evaluates progress at various job sites to ensure that programs are working effectively and are creating value for the employer and the individuals
- Analyzes information collected regarding work programs, and modifies and streamlines data collection process to ensure the right information is collected and reported
- Meet annual employment placement targets as required through grant funding and organizational planning
- Ensures the health and safety needs of each individual are met and WSA process is followed in all situations
- Present a positive and professional image of WSAF to all internal and external customers, suppliers, vendors, etc
- Other duties shall be assigned as required.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A diploma or equivalent post-secondary education in Disability Studies or Social Work or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in an employment support role preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of theory, principles and practices of supported employment, career transition, counseling, and career training and development
- Significant experience in training and facilitation
- Ability to write, implement and execute training programs.
- Ability to translate business needs, creating and implementing effective marketing and communications strategy into effective tactical creative solutions that meet business objectives.
- Strong project management skills gained from experience managing multiple projects.
- Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Flexibility; ability to multi-task, adapt to changing priorities and prioritize projects.
- Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information.
- General mathematical, budgeting, and accounting skills.
- Meticulous records maintenance skills.
- Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
- Vulnerable Sector Security Clearance
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- 2 Mill. Liability Insurance (required annually)
- Driver’s Abstract and use of a personal vehicle are requirements for this position.
- Occasionally may need to work some weekends or evenings.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
