We look forward to welcoming one dedicated** Storekeeper** who will be responsible for the day-to-day storekeeping operations of the institution. Given this position works with inmate helpers, a** shift premium** will be added to every pay.

**About the job**: Working as part of a small team at the Kenora Jail, you will enjoy a variety of tasks as well as a steady work schedule. In this role you can expect to:

- buy, receive and check incoming goods and equipment
- stock items, maintain storage control, and fill stock requisitions and orders
- assemble and pack goods for distribution and use
- reconcile purchasing card statements
- update manual and computerized storekeeping databases
- provide training, direction and supervision to staff and inmate helpers

**What you bring to the team**:
**Specialized Knowledge and Analytical Skills**: You have knowledge and experience with:

- coordinating the receipt, storage, recording and distribution of products and equipment
- inventory control practices to ensure the accurate and up-to-date records
- purchasing processes
- relevant legislation and policies (i.e. Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS) to ensure proper handling, mixing, and storage of goods, and to maintain safety and security of stock areas

**Computer Skills**:

- You are able to input data and produce reports

**Communication and Supervisory Skills**: You are able to:

- assign and review the work of inmate helpers
- discuss and resolve problems with suppliers and staff
- prepare reports

**Problem-Solving and Organizational Skills**: You can:

- coordinate schedules and assign work in the stock room to meet fluctuating priorities
- identify and prevent safety risks
- resolve billing issues and discrepancies
