Automation Technician

**Job Summary**
- Lead a team from project design to installation.
- Write and debug PLC programs.
- Troubleshoot machine breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize loss of production.
- Install and repair electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
- Work from wiring diagrams or oral instructions to wire or assemble equipment.
- Maintain inventory of parts and equipment.
- Observes all safety rules and maintains an orderly workplace
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Package parts for shipping and other miscellaneous jobs.
- Travel to customer’s facilities in Canada and the US.

**Requirements**:

- 5 years of experience in industrial automation troubleshooting.
- Fluent English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Able to work in and support a 24hr production-based environment
- Experience on a manufacturing floor, noisy environment, PPE required

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Partial programming - Must be able to add, remove or modify programs already in machines that are running while minimizing lost production
- Proficient with Allen Bradley Logix 500/5000. B&R, Automation Direct, and Siemens is a plus but not required
- Very good understanding of electrical drawing packages
- Excellent controls troubleshooting
- Understanding of machine safety (Safety Relays and Safety PLC’s)
- A college diploma as an electrical engineering technician, technologist or other related field of study.
- 309A Electrician License
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License.
- Have your own vehicle to get to Job sites.
- Valid Canadian Passport.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $35.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
