Caregiver (Companion/housekeeper)

Live-in Careperson - Ranch Park, Coquitlam
Job type - Live-in, fixed term contract, full-time work with flex hours
We are seeking an experienced, compassionate female caregiver to live with and care for an 83 yr old woman with memory difficulties who wants to remain living in her own home. She is mobile and physically healthy for her age - but has increasing memory loss and some confusion and some safety issues. She enjoys company and is more relaxed when someone is around.
**Terms**:
⦁ Mixed Day and Evening shifts - (split shifts) We prefer 7 nights a week with occasional exceptions.
Providing morning and evening meals with occasional exceptions.
⦁ English (required)
Room and Board included
Duties include:
⦁ Companionship and conversation
⦁ Administering or overseeing medication (Minimal)
⦁ Some meal preparation (simple - not complex)
⦁ Assistance with personal care (currently she is fairly self-sufficient)
⦁ Light housework and laundry
⦁ Providing supervision and reminders
⦁ Activities and outings in the community (walks, some Dr visits, eating out on occasion on a budget)
⦁ Shopping for groceries and basic needs (On a budget)
**Skills**:⦁ Basic understanding of dementia (further training can be provided)
⦁ First aid basics
⦁ Having a vehicle and drivers license is desirable.
⦁ Ability to report (by phone or computer) to her guardians
⦁ 2 personal and 2 professional references, as well as a clear criminal record check, are required.
** Vaccination certificate and Criminal record check required.
**Salary**: $3,300.00-$4,300.00 per month
