**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Research Services & Initiatives (FPA), the Post Award Support Administrator (FPA) is responsible for providing day-to-day administrative support to principal investigators (PIs) holding research funding in the Faculty of Public Affairs. The incumbent will also provide support and guidance to the Faculty of Public Affairs research community - PIs, Project Managers/Coordinators, grant-funded employees who are coordinating the day-to-day administration of the research fund(s) - on project administration including the use of Carleton enterprise level information systems. The Post Award Support Administrator (FPA) will support PIs in a wide range of social science research projects, including supporting the administration of research collaborations with Indigenous communities and international organizations/institutions.
**Qualifications**:
**The incumbent must possess the following qualifications**:
- Excellent knowledge of financial information systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of University research-related policies and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of research fund administration and experience working with research funding agencies.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of social science research projects and expenses.
- Superior competency in using spreadsheets.
- Proven track record of providing excellent customer service and interpersonal relations, as well as excellent oral and verbal communication, including recognized use of tact and sensitivity in dealing with varied clientele.
- Ability to work independently, under direction, as well as in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of best practices for research project management.
- Experience in dealing with the creation and administration of employment contracts.
- Cultural competency, including in interacting with external partners from the Global South and Indigenous communities.
**Education and Experience**:
**The above is normally acquired through the completion of**:
- Successful completion of a four-year honours degree from an accredited university, with a specialization in business administration, finance or accounting.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working in a research administrative environment, involving budgeting and accounting, ideally in a university setting and with social science research projects.
