One of our clients in Etobicoke owns and operates a facility in Toronto to receive and process liquid soil from hydrovac (daylighting) trucks. The liquid soil is processed into reusable stone, sand, clay and treated water.

The Plant Operator plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of our cleints Etobicoke industrial site performing required daily activities safely.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Operate plant equipment including: the start and stop of equipment, simple troubleshooting and making adjustments as necessary
- Operate heavy equipment including: pay loader, sit-down forklift and scissor lift
- Greeting drivers and providing direction for safe unloading
- General daily housekeeping and good manufacturing practices (GMPs) such as cleaning, sweeping, pressure washing, etc.
- Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctions and to ensure plant systems are operating normally.
- Assist Plant Manager and Operators in trouble shooting machinery problems
- Daily lubrication and preventative maintenance of all required machinery
- Taking samples for routine soil testing
- May perform minor maintenance or assist with repair of plant machinery
- May repair machinery using hand tools and power tools.
- Data entry as required
- Participate in corporate safety initiatives and procedures
- Commit to corporate safety initiatives and procedures

**Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities**:

- Heavy equipment certified required (loader, fork truck, scissor lift)
- Working at heights certification and experience required
- Confined space certification and experience required
- First aid certification is an asset
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise an asset
- Be knowledgeable of industry and provincial safety legislation and standard an asset
- Must be physically fit to meet physical demands of position
- Proven ability to work efficiently and productively in a diverse team of varying skill levels
- Motivated, quick learner and able to work in a challenging environment with and without supervision
- Must be punctual, ready and willing at all times

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Licence/Certification:

- Confined Space Certification (preferred)
- Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
- Heavy equipment (loader, fork truck, scissor lift) (preferred)
