**About the Role**:
Reporting to the CFO, the Procurement Specialist will play a key role in managing end-to-end purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of raw materials, packaging, and production supplies. This position requires strong vendor management skills, supply chain coordination experience, and a solid understanding of manufacturing operations.
You will collaborate closely with the Operations, Production, Quality, and Finance teams to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient procurement that aligns with production schedules and quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage the full procurement cycle, including supplier sourcing, quoting, negotiation, and purchase order execution.
- Ensure timely replenishment of materials (ingredients, packaging, labels, CO₂, etc.) to meet production schedules.
- Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and delivery terms in the ERP system.
- Ensure complete transparency in the procurement process, including maintaining clear documentation, audit trails, and appropriate disclosure/approvals in line with company policies.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and service.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production Planning to avoid shortages or overstock.
- Evaluate supplier performance through cost, quality, delivery, and service metrics.
- Supply Chain Coordination.
- Work with internal teams to forecast demand, plan material requirements, and support production scheduling.
- Collaborate with logistics partners to coordinate inbound deliveries and manage lead times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline purchasing and supply chain processes.
- Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors or reduce costs through strategic sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, and sustainability goals.
- Work with the customer team to ensure any supplier pricing or contract changes are accurately reflected in customer pricing models, coordinating closely with Finance and Account Management for timely updates. Communicate clearly and proactively any procurement concerns, risks, or changes with management and operational teams, including impacts to cost, timelines, or specifications.
- Prepare regular reports on purchasing activity, supplier performance, and cost trends.
- Maintain a change log that tracks supplier pricing/contract updates and the corresponding updates made to customer pricing models.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain—ideally in food & beverage, manufacturing, or CPG.
- Experience with ERP or MRP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of supply chain operations, vendor management, and inventory control.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency required).
- SCMP or other supply chain designation (in progress or completed) considered an asset.
**Key Competencies**:
- Strong sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation skills.
- Solid understanding of supply chain, inventory, and production planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Data-driven decision making; comfortable with ERP/MRP systems and cost analysis.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through in purchase orders and documentation.
- Collaborative communication style with Operations, Production, Quality, and Finance.
