The Multiple Sclerosis Research Program is currently looking for a **Research Assistant I**. This position provides support to an ongoing clinical and research database. Tasks include ongoing chart review, collecting, recording, and entering data, as well as limited processing of data.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Ongoing chart review of clinic notes from patients cared for in the BARLO MS Clinic
- Data abstraction and entry for a combined clinical and research database
- Data export and manipulation to facilitate research projects

**Qualifications**:

- Undergraduate Degree or 1 year of relevant experience OR demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience
- Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology related to neurology and multiple sclerosis
- Demonstrated understanding of the Expanded Disability Status Scale scoring (EDSS) system
- Demonstrated understanding of the MSBase Data entry Software (MDS)
- Very strong Excel skills (specifically data manipulation skills)
- Excellent communication (verbal/written) skills
- Ability to work primarily independently
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to engage in critical thinking (problem solve)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Able to keep written records
