**) Quality and Safety Lead** to support Quality and Safety initiatives and other instructional duties as required.**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Major Responsibilities Include**:

- Lead the development of a quality and safety framework for the program.
- Review procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Review laboratory processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to address any deficiencies or opportunities for improvement.
- Review and maintain the Laboratory Safety program to ensure it meets regulatory requirements and ensures the safety of all laboratory personnel and students.
- Chair and/or participate in a variety of safety and quality committees, including a curriculum review committee.
- Support the safety orientation of new staff and students.
- Participate in external audits and inspection of the laboratory to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure that the program has maintained records of quality control activities, laboratory procedures, and equipment maintenance.
- Review EQual Accreditation requirements and prepare for Accreditation.
- Work with faculty and staff to develop and implement a continuous quality improvement program that evaluates laboratory processes and procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement.
- Provide leadership and support to faculty and staff on quality-related issues, including training and education on quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Build and maintain effective and collaborative networks and relationships with colleagues, and partners.
- Use project management methodologies to establish project plans, timelines, and deliverables, and to execute on and oversee projects, including facilitating decisions through consensus with stakeholders, as needed.
- Perform other instructor and administrative duties as required.

**Qualifications**

**QUALIFICATIONS***:
**Education & Credentials**
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program.
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institute preferred OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current registration with CSMLS.

**Experience**
- A minimum of 5 years of recent, full-time, or equivalent experience in a Medical Laboratory or institutional setting, preferably in a quality management role.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies, programs, policies and standards.
- Knowledge and experience managing projects of various scopes, budgets, and timelines.
- Experience in managing and collaborating with multidisciplinary internal and external groups.
- Experience providing strategic advice, analysis and recommendations to senior management.
- Demonstrable teaching, training, or mentoring skills for students, colleagues, or other clients.
- Knowledge and experience with all MS Office Productivity Tools and various meeting platforms.

**Salary Range**
- Salary Range: $56,845 - $99,571 per annum.**Additional Salary Information**
- Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.Position Details
