Overall Accountability

The Business Manager supervises and monitors all school accounting functions and is responsible for monitoring and reporting on fiscal activity for the school.

Specific Accountabilities- Plans and oversees fiscal activities for the school- Prepares and monitors budgets- Compiles and analyzes data to prepare various reports and summaries- Supervises and guides the work of school accounting staff- Monitors audit procedures and controls, merchandising and fund-raising activities- Monitors the purchasing and receiving functions- Oversees and manages setup and collection of school and District fees- Oversees and maintains control of all keys issued to staff- Manages Tubby bus records, including inspections and maintenance in accordance with Provincial Highway Traffic Act

Qualifications- Bachelor of commerce or equivalent degree with accounting major and/or a recognized accounting designation, or- Two (2) year accounting diploma with a minimum of two (2) years’ related experience- Proficiency with Microsoft Office- Familiarity with PeopleSoft, Rycor Fee management system and School Cash Net- Excellent knowledge of school information records system software- Well organized and able to multi-task in a busy work environment- Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
