We are currently looking for a dynamic **Human Resources Specialist **to join our team. This role is an integral member of the HR team who provides administrative and functional support, and acts as a key contact point for employees. This position is based out of our Oakville head office and may include a combination of virtual and in-office work. This is a full-time position.
As HR Specialist you will provide a range of support with HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, updating and maintaining the HR database, tracking employee statuses, HR reporting and much more You will be a key player in the management of employee life cycle documentation. The HR Specialist will also be involved with the exciting implementation of a new HR system over the next several months.
You are an enthusiastic professional with a passion for employee engagement who thrives in a fast-paced environment. It is essential to be an effective communicator, organized, and able to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive approach. The HR Specialist interacts with all levels of staff across the organization and ensures teams are supported with high quality information.
**KEY FUNCTIONS**:
- Support internal recruitment and generate employment offers
- Support bi-monthly orientations, onboarding of new hires, and new hire documentation management
- Manage general HR inquiries and confidential administrative matters for the department
- Process information and status changes for existing staff
- Assist with processing WSIB claims and leaves of absence
- Maintain employee data, including training records, in internal databases
- Prepare and maintain reports within the HR department and prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested
- Support the day-to-day efficient operation of the HR department
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:
**- Community College Diploma or University Degree in HR or Business Administration or equivalent**
- Minimum 2 to 3 years proven experience in a human resources role
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong problem solving and effective listening skills
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work under pressure and tight timelines
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretionary skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
- Demonstrated experience with a computerized HRMS system, ADP and UKG an asset
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Salary range: $50,973 - $54,054
