Island Health has an opportunity for a full time Anesthesiologist to join a team of four colleagues in a busy anesthesia practice at the Cowichan District Hospital.
The Cowichan District Hospital, a 134-bed acute care facility, enjoys an exceptionally collegial atmosphere amongst the general and specialty medical staff. Many local FPs continue to maintain full-service practices and provide inpatient care, including Maternity primary care. Local specialist services include Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Radiology; surgical services include General and Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, and Plastic Surgery. Our busy ER is served by dedicated ERPs. The new Cowichan District Hospital is expected to be completed in 2026 and will bring added inpatient capacity in excess of 200 beds, as well as expanded OR and ICU capacity. We plan for state-of-the-art equipment and design.
Members are affiliated with the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program and provide teaching to medical students and residents.
