**Job Summary**

Carpenter apprentices assist a skilled tradesperson in all phases of work on a job site. This classification involves a four-year supervised training program, with the employee progressing in one-year increments if performance is satisfactory.

**Job Type / Category**

**This includes, but not limited to**:

- Operates hand tools, power tools, and equipment relevant to Carpentry.
- Performs manual labour associated with the trade.
- Runs errands, carries and delivers materials, tools and equipment.
- Cleans tools and equipment.
- Performs skilled trades work commensurate with years of experience.

**Skills, includes but is not limited to**:

- Have a keen interest in building things,
- An interest in keeping up-to-date on building techniques and materials,
- Good manual dexterity and mechanical ability,
- Physical strength and stamina, good eye-hand coordination,
- Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications,
- Ability to estimate the cost of jobs and types of material needed,
- Good verbal communication skills,
- Knowledge of local building codes,
- Ability to get along well with others on a work team,
- Have an awareness of safety and a responsible work attitude.

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Working towards their respective level in Carpenter apprenticeship, looking preferably for any level
- Stong aptitude in carpentry
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including overnights

**Salary**: $21.00-$32.00 per hour
