BC Assessment is currently looking for a Temporary Strategic People Programs Assistant Co-op student for 4 months during the Fall (September to December) to join our Learning Centre team in our Uptown office.

Job Overview
The Learning Centre is looking to expand our team to support key learning events for our valued Crown Corporation employees. This role provides important administrative and event planning support to the Learning Centre at BC Assessment in the coordination and delivery of learning events for employees across BC Assessment. This is an exciting co-op learning opportunity that will offer you the ability to develop and expand your event planning, corporate training, coordination, stakeholder relations management, budgeting and procurement skills.

This role requires a motivated individual who takes the initiative to achieve results and has the ability to:
- Adapt quickly to changes in work priorities and perform duties under pressure of deadlines- Identify sensitive or confidential information and abide by confidentiality requirements- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships in the course of the assigned work- Organize, prioritize, and determine own work priorities- Use diplomacy, tact and discretion when dealing with clients, customers, and/or general public.- Work effectively as a member of a team or independently.
You need to be highly organized and a natural multitasker. You are able to contribute to the planning and delivery of BCA onboarding events using both your problem-solving skills and flexibility. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a service-oriented mindset. You are able to collaborate effectively with others and are eager to make a positive impact within the organization
Key Accountabilities- Creates, maintains, and modifies learning records, presentations, and/or reports utilizing LMS and other electronic survey software- Places orders using Learning Centre budget for supplies; maintains accurate records of expenses and processes invoices in our financial system- Arranges and sets up venues and meeting room logistics; arranges AV and physical equipment, supplies and catering- Liaises with venue event planner, speakers and training firms and collects information from these external stakeholders for supervisor and/or manager in the Learning Centre- Contributes to weekly Learning Centre meetings, makes presentations for the People Division and organizes meetings with key collaborators and facilitators
This position is excluded from the bargaining unit.- Location: Victoria, BC - Uptown- Compensation: $25.3114 hourly ($1,771.80 bi-weekly)What can I expect next?
