Ride Time, one of the largest independent used car dealers in central Canada, is seeking an experienced Service Writer to join our busy store.

**Summary**:
This job is primarily responsible for initiating automotive service and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and service requested for both internal vehicles and retail customers.
**Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Verifies warranty coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system and
- Keep track of all open RO’s and ensure they are closed in a timely manner.
- Assist customer service department to maintain customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
- Send cars to other dealerships, body shops and outside vendors for repairs.
- Inspect cars as necessary to ensure all repairs have been done properly and all paperwork is filled out and approved.
- Identify, assist and open any arbitration issues where we purchase vehicles and follow up until completion of the process.
- Ensure invoices are closed out on time so venders get paid in a timely manner.
- Update, maintain and track vehicles in our reconditioning software four our internal vehicles.
- Maintain automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
- Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier, management or transportation.
- Confer with inventory management teams to determine ways to maintain supply-chain efficiency, or minimize cost.
- Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes.
- Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency or minimum cost.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience working in dealerships or working with vehicles and parts is required.
- Experience with PBS. iRecon, vAuto is a plus
- A valid Manitoba’s Drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
**Pay**
Experience will be considered. The job comes with an hourly salary plus monthly attainable bonuses and department profit sharing.

**Salary**: $37,440.00-$62,600.00 per year
