Guelph Manufacturing Group Inc. is currently hiring a **Lead Hand Assembly on Day Shift.**
**Your daily responsibilities will include**:
- Knowledge of all applicable safety standards in respect to the department including all Guelph Manufacturing Group Inc. and OHSA STDs and regulations.
- Capable of acting in the supervisor's role in a competent manner when the supervisor is absent.
- Constant monitoring of resources to achieve plant goals and targets for Safety, Quality and Performance
- MIG welding knowledge is an asset
- Operate production equipment, fill in as required as normal part of everyday duties, fixture maintenance coordination. All aspects of tooltip changes.
- Lead hand leads by example using effective positive leadership skills to promote high work ethics in departments and a positive company image.
- Lead by example housekeeping practices
- Capable of effective communication to the workforce of duties and safe practice.
- Capable of problem-solving in the department with supervisors and operators.
- Training of new employees to be successful members of the production team.
- Liaison if required with support departments independently in absence of supervisor and periodically when the supervisor is there.
- Communicates well with service departments, engineers, and production, both in and out of the plant as required.
- Capable of making responsible decisions with production tooling equipment and schedules.
- Uphold safety, quality production, and customer service as #1 priority at all times and never sacrificing one for the other.
- Participate, promote and contribute to all continuous improvement activities.
- Performs other duties as required by supervisor and management to enhance smooth operations at Guelph Manufacturing Group Inc.
**What are we looking for?**
- Education: Secondary School
- 1 - 3 year experiences
- Experience in an automotive manufacturing setting
- A forklift badge is an asset
