**Operations Manager**

Duration: April to September

Schedule: 40 hrs a week (full time)

**Required Skills**:

- Windsports experience with an understanding of kite safety
- SVOP
- Seamanship skills to confidently operate a boat in strong wind and waves
- Current First Aid certification
- Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Certificate (ROC (m))
- Enthusiastic, professional, proactive, and demonstrates ability to champion the SWS’s mission
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to carry up to 50 lbs for short distances

**Additional Preferred Skills**
- IKO levels or experience teaching windsports an asset
- Understanding of Howe Sound tides, weather, and navigation
- OFA Level 3
- Additional Languages

**Responsibilities**:

- Budget and manage staff schedule to control operational costs, including assisting with payroll and other administrative tasks
- Operate jet skis to retrieve members
- Operate inflatable rib to shuttle members to and from Pepahím Island
- Record data to gauge required metrics (retrievals, member visits, first aid, maintenance records)
- Ensure proper upkeep of all SWS assets
- Perform ad hoc maintenance on fleet; ensuring staff are completing daily checks
- Develop and implement updated SWS operations procedures
- Ensure all users have purchased a pass to sail off Pepahím Island
- Attend board of director meetings as required
- Managing interpersonal conflict within your group to ensure smooth operation of sailing instruction
- Practice excellence in leadership and personal conduct at all times
- Foster an environment that promotes member safety both on and off the water

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 7 months

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Every Weekend
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- windsport: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- SVOP (preferred)
- ROC(m) (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
