Job Summary

The function of the Hotel Security Manager is to lead the Security team by providing training, direction and supervision to the Hotel Security Investigators. In addition, the Security Manager takes an active role in protecting the life and the property of guests, colleagues and customers.

**_Key Result Areas_**

- Direct, coach and manage the Security team to ensure all standards and operating procedures are followed.
Ensures proper training of all Hotel Security Investigators and that all necessary credentials (PI License, First Aid certification) are valid and up-to-date.
Ensure staffing levels are monitored on a daily basis and that they are in accordance with business demands within the framework of the approved budget.
Prepares and maintains the weekly schedule.
Completes all timekeeping and pay related functions.
Working with the Director of Services & Security, provide safety and emergency awareness training to all departments/colleagues.
Conducts performance management meetings and PRIDE reviews for the Security team.
Ensures that emergency procedures are followed in accordance with the Crisis Management Plan.
Works on projects as selected personally or as assigned by management.
Maintains close liaison with local Police, Fire department and Ambulance to assist guests/ colleagues and management with any requirements.
Attends security meetings and special courses for development.
Assists with locker inspections and fumigation when requested.
Makes sure all incident reports are completed correctly upon shift completion.
Available to respond to Hotel emergencies as required by management.
Ensure full building detex are conducted on a daily basis.
Performs other tasks as assigned by management.

- Maintains active files on trespassers and undesirables.
Maintains accurate security logs.
Attends internal meetings to address possible concerns relating to special conferences as assigned.
Maintains the security files up date.

**_Customer Satisfaction_**

- Maintains a good working relationship with his/her co-workers and ensures all information related to the hotel is handed over the next shift.
Works in conjunction with the Front Office & Guest Services team regarding colleague/guest loss, theft and illness, accident and damage occurrences.
Ensures all guest correspondence is handled within 15 days on the original concern.
Maintains active files on these follow-ups.

**_Process Improvement/ Productivity_**
**_ _**
- Inspects the hotel areas for safety violations during the shift or on special assignments. Follows up on discrepancies.
Attends court and other legal proceedings related to the hotel when so required and keeps files on results of these appearances.
Complies with Hotel and Company policies and Procedures as well as Health and Safety policies.
Ensures the safety and security of all guests, colleagues and customers.
Requirement
- **_Working Experience_**
**_ _**
Minimum of 5 years working as a Hotel Security Investigator or Security Officer in a related field.
- Previous experience in managing others is an asset.
- **_Knowledge_**
**_ _**
Good computer skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, PMS systems, HR/Payroll)
- Ability to write reports and describe situations accurately and effectively
- **_Education _**
Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset
- Must have Private Investigators License.
- Must be First Aid certified in Standard level first aid with CPR-C & AED
