**Main Tasks**:

- Install conveyor belts including:

- Remove the existing belt and roll it up on a motorized reel
- Make all the necessary adjustments for the installation of the new belt (counterweight, adjustment of pulleys, etc.)
- Perform the vulcanization (hot and cold) of the jointing of the belts (at the customers and in the workshop)
- Perform all other related work such as coating pulleys, sheet rubber work, modifications to conveyor chutes, sealing systems, manufacturing of bucket and chain belts, etc.
- Perform the inspection of conveyors at customer sites and provide a report to the immediate superior
- Be responsible for the apprentice technicians who assist them and participate in their training in the transmission of knowledge in the installation and vulcanization of conveyor belts
- Ensure that you have and use all the equipment required to carry out the work on site and in the workshop
- Participate in training provided internally or externally on equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes), as well as the upgrading of vulcanization techniques and the installation of conveyor accessories.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the company's productivity, the preventive maintenance of equipment and the level of product quality.
- Participate in the improvement of the equipment and tools necessary for the work (winches, reels, etc.)
- Execute the safety rules and standards in force at the customer and in the workshop
- Take responsibility for the service trucks provided by the company and ensure their proper maintenance
- Ensure that the inventory of the service truck is adequate and that it balances
- Fill out the dispatch slip with the hours worked and have them approved by the client, and submit the slip to his immediate supervisor the next day at the latest with all the related documents (meal receipts, accommodation, etc.), or indicate expenses to come or without receipts if applicable
- Indicate on the slip all the equipment used for the work
- Maintain regular contact with his immediate superior regarding the progress of the work or any anomalies and technical problems encountered
- Clean and keep the workspace clean at a customer or in the workshop

**Training and EXPERIENCE**:

- Hold a professional diploma in industrial mechanics or equivalent experience
- Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an apprentice technician in the field of conveyor belt vulcanization.

**Technical skills**:

- Good knowledge of industrial mechanics
- Manual skills
- Bilingual (an asset)
- Ability to take measurements (as well as convert to imperial or metric) and do simple calculations
- Valid driver's license and own a vehicle

**Non-Technical Skills**:

- Leadership and sense of responsibility
- Good skills for physical and manual work. Good physical shape.
- Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure
- Skills in analysis and problem solving
- Bilingual, French-English, especially oral (an asset)
