SSR Mining - Seabee Gold Operation (SGO) is hiring for a Metallurgist.
About Your New Role:
Reporting to the Superintendent, Mill Operations, the Metallurgist, will be responsible to monitor and report plant metallurgical performance and to provide technical support to the production team to achieve company budgeted gold output.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and recommend key plant operating parameters to increase recovery and mill tons throughput.- Ensure cost effectiveness of reagent consumption of process consumables without jeopardizing gold recovery.- Responsible for achieving plant recoveries through agreed metallurgical practices and procedures.- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting reports.- Ensure good clear communication lines within team and co-workers.- Actively promote continuous improvements to safety, operation efficiencies and reducing operational costs.- Oversee plant assay lab and technicians.- Manage and mentor gold room personnel.
Your Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate good communication skills.- Positive and proactive attitude towards safety.- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and power point.- Knowledge of fire assay and operating AA machine considered an asset.
Your Education and Experience:
- University degree or College diploma in metallurgy with 4-5 years field experience.- CIP (carbon in pulp) circuit experience is necessary.- Experience leading and supervising a small team.- Gold Mining experience would be considered an asset.
About Our Working Conditions:
This position has a schedule of 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off at our remote camp which you will be required to fly in fly out with pick up points in Saskatoon, Prince Albert and La Ronge.
