Production Coordinator

**Purpose**:
This position coordinates production aspects of the Department of Theatre presentations and studio shows. Activities associated with the coordination include providing specialized logístical, technical and creative support to Theatre courses, faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students in the Department of Theatre.
**Education**:
College diploma with specialization in Theatre Production or an equivalent of 2 years recent experience (defined as within the last three years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
**Experience**:
Minimum four years recent (within last 5 years) and related experience in professional live performance production. Related experience in an academic setting would be desired.
**Skills**:
Demonstrated skills including
Strong planning and organizational skills including the ability to direct and communicate with diverse groups of people
Ability to work independently and set priorities
Proven ability to plan and administer a budget
Knowledge of all aspects of performance production, production management, stage management, technical direction, including stage carpentry, properties, scenic painting, rigging, lighting, sound, automation, special effects, costume and scenery construction, publicity, and projections
Ability to accurately interpret and summarize information
Effective interpersonal skills, including flexibility, tact and courtesy
Ability to deal calmly, courteously and effectively with people
Demonstrated effective and clear written communication skills
Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressureDemonstrated computer skills including:
Basic word processing (MS Word)
Intermediate spreadsheets (MS Excel)
Technical Drawing (Vectorworks, AutoCad, Adobe Suite)
