Visitor Experience Agent

**The Role**

The Visitor Experience Agent will provide excellent customer service at the ticketing desk, giftshop, café, and in the galleries as needed. While working primarily on weekends, holidays and picking up more hours during the busy summer months, the Visitor Experience Agent will be flexible in their role and always welcoming and responsive to the museum guests. When assigned to the ticketing desk and giftshop, the agent will process payments for admissions and sales while engaging with guests and communicating the amenities of the museum.

The agent will be outgoing and eager to talk with visitors about the upcoming events and exhibits. An interest in aviation and willingness to learn about the exhibits is desired. The agent may provide support in the galleries and is a valued member of the Visitor Experience Team striving to keep visitors entertained in a safe environment. The organization has a large volunteer base and being a team player is important to the role. This position reports to the Manager of Visitor Experience and Gift Shop.

**Job Functions**
- Welcome individuals and groups as they visit the museum
- Sell admissions and annual passes at the Ticketing Desk
- Providing outstanding customer service in the Gift Shop and processing sales
- Merchandise the Gift Shop under the direction of the Manager/Lead
- Communicate with visitors about the museum’s amenities, exhibits and events
- Participate in Birthday Party bookings on weekends
- Attend to sales in the Café when open to the public
- Learn about the exhibits and be prepared to answer basic questions from the public
- Engage with visitors at the interactive exhibits requiring support from a staff member
- Actively support the safety plan of the museum
- Other duties as assigned & relevant to the role

**Qualifications**
- Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Able to work a flexible work schedule (Weekends & Holidays)
- Takes great initiative and has the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Able to work as a team as well as independently
- 1-2 years experience with Point of Sale in a retail environment
- Proven attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in transactions, documentation and tasks
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Fluency in English language
- Experience working with the public in a museum or cultural organizations is preferred
- Valid certification in Emergency First Aid & AED is considered an asset
- Satisfactory criminal record and vulnerable sector search is required
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds

The Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada (RAMWC) is located on the James A. Richardson International Airport campus in Winnipeg. The Museum is a non-profit dedicated to preserving the history of aviation in Western Canada. The Museum showcases aircraft and many unique aviation artefacts from its collection, presented from a story-driven approach. Its mission is to entertain, educate and inspire visitors.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
