YOUR PROFILE

You are recognized for your rigour, collaboration, and your prioritization skills. You have developed a good working knowledge of different energy markets and related technologies. You thrive on working on several projects at once, and you would like to work for a pioneering Canadian company, with strong human values, in the renewable energy field.

You will play a key role by developing and looking after a pipeline of energy storage projects from origination to start of construction. YOUR CHALLENGE
- Monitor and manage key policy and market developments in select jurisdictions.
- Lead evaluation of the business case for new storage opportunities, including leading analysis necessary to develop specific revenue thesis, optimal project sizing, and investigate the possibility of the benefits of co-locating with renewable generation.
- Continue the development of the current portfolio of storage assets.
- Leading the origination of opportunities for energy storage, which entails:

- Supporting initial triage, due diligence and negotiation of identified opportunities.
- Working closely with internal and external resources to complete due diligence as well as technical, commercial and financial project development.
- Evaluating technical, operational and logístical aspects of projects and liaising with internal and external experts to ensure thorough analysis and assessment of potential projects.
- Identifying and addressing project resource constraints and requirements.
- Creating and tracking project development plans and budgets for development projects.
- Managing and communicating project progress towards task deadlines and identifying critical path challenges.
- Developing and providing project status updates to relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Support development team in evaluation and development of co-located energy storage.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field or experience in the energy industry is very desirable;
- Minimum of 5 years of utility-scale energy industry experience working in energy storage or related industry;
- Strong understanding of various energy storage systems, development and EPC processes;
- Previous experience with project development, commercial contract negotiations and project management, particularly in relation to energy storage;
- Good understanding of financial metrics and risk in energy assets, including financial model management;
- Ability to create a collaborative working environment and build strong relationships, trust and transparency;
- Diligence, summarizing skills, group influence and teamwork skills;
- This position may include occasional travel in North America and abroad.
