BB Camp is seeking an experienced, reliable and enthusiastic Head Cook to join our summer camp team on beautiful Town Island in Lake of the Woods, Ontario. The kitchen assistant will be responsible for supporting the head cook in providing meals for campers and staff during the summer camp program. They are responsible for assisting with meal preparation, cleaning and organizing the kitchen and appliances, and ensuring that all food is stored and prepared safely. In addition, kitchen assistants perform general cleaning and maintaining meal records. A primary function of this and every other job at the camp is to ensure that each camper, staff member and guest receives the highest caliber of service. BB Camp is a non-denominational Jewish summer camp for kids.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Food Preparation**: Assisting head cook with meal preparation, following recipes and instructions
- **Maintaining Cleanliness**:Ensuring the kitchen and work areas are clean and organized.
- **Ensuring safety**:Following health department regulations pertaining to safe food practices
- **Inventory Management**: Assisting with receiving and storing food and supplies.
- **Other duties**:as assigned by head cook

**Required Skills**:

- **Basic Cooking Skills**:Ability to follow recipes and prepare food items.
- **Teamwork**:Working effectively with other kitchen staff.
- **Communication**: Following instructions and communicating clearly.
- **Hygiene and Safety**:Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ensuring accuracy in food preparation.

**Qualifications**:

- Food Handlers Certificate
- Completes BB Camp screening process including a clear Police Records Check
- Experience working in a kitchen environment
- First Aid/ CPR preferred
