**As Head Chef, You Will**:
The Head Chef will be someone who has gained considerable culinary experience, preferably within premium casual Italian cuisine. The Head Chef oversees all kitchen operations with strong leadership skills, and knowledge of menu development, forecasting, food costing, inventory, and scheduling. The Head Chef will be a driven individual with a passion for creating Italian cuisine; a passion only surpassed by their desire for developing their team's culinary talent.
- Demonstrate and communicate vision and culinary concepts to all team members
- Create and develop menus, including using products that are grown and sourced locally
- Ensuring team members provide a memorable guest experience through coaching and fostering a positive working culture by reinforcing the MHG Values
- Demonstrate and promote a kitchen culture that revolves around the enjoyment of cooking, food, and working as a team
- Demonstrate an influential presence in the kitchen which fosters growth, learning, and development
- Work with the Sous Chef, Prep Manager and all team members to meet all projected goals when it comes to cost, waste and labour control
- Oversee ordering of inventory and daily prep work
- Responsible for completing weekly inventory
- Recipe and menu development and input into inventory system, Optimum Control
- Work on the line with team members, maintaining a high level of food quality
- Oversees kitchen operations and cleanliness
**Who You Are**:
- Have a passion for the Italian culinary experience and the food service industry
- Ability to take and give direction, working calmly under pressure
- A self driven individual who relishes leading a team of culinary professionals
- Patient, compassionate, composed, and creative
- Customer focused problem solver with excellent time management skills
- Enjoy learning and teaching new things, helping team members grow and develop their talents
- Have a desire for personal and professional development
**What You Bring**:
- Applicants should have 1+ years experience with Italian cuisine
- Must have experience cooking and leading in a full-service high-volume restaurant
- Previous experience working as a Sous Chef or Head Chef (kitchen leadership role)
- Culinary Arts training or diploma considered an asset
