Olds College is looking for someone to join our Facilities department in maintenance. The Service Worker will provide maintenance services for the various building on campus.

Key Job Functions:

- Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition
- Carpentry work, cut, shape, fabricate and alter materials as required
- Install, maintain and repair drywall, cabinets, doors, windows, tables, planters, furniture, tile, and paint as required
- Conduct regular documented Health and Safety building inspections to identify and address hazards and needed repairs
- Document repairs and maintain thorough work order records
- Responsive to service calls
- Move equipment or furniture as requested by the Facilities Manager
- Assist tradesperson to carry out electrical, plumbing, and mechanical construction and repairs.
- Perform snow removal as required
- Support Shipping and Receiving as required by off loading trucks with the Skid steer and help with delivering large parcels around campus
- Support Waste management and handle and dispose of Biohazard materials as per specifications
- Ability to determine when issues need to be escalated to their manager
- Communicate with customers about work completions and satisfaction level. Communicate any delays and expectations
- Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager as required

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge Required:

- High school diploma
- Minimum of five years related work experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Equipment operation including: Skid Steer, Heavy Equipment Operator and Forklift
- Apprenticeship training would be considered an asset.
- Carpentry skills would be considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrates reasoning and decision making skills.
- Demonstrates above average time and stress management skills.
- Demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to adopt new technology and practices
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor
- Excellent customer service skills
- WHMIS and First Aid required

Conditions of Employment:
- Current Criminal Reference check that is free of any offenses.- Must respect and actively promote health and safety policies.
