Our mission is to walk beside, advocate, and support people living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) and or other disorders. Strengthened by cultural practices and traditional teachings, supports will assist in restoring balance to individuals and the community affected by trauma and violence. Support Programs serve individuals who live in Winnipeg, are 16 years of age or older, living with FASD and/or other disorders.

**Responsibilities**:
We are currently hiring to provide relief in both of our programs.
**Walking Stick Community Supports**
The Support Mentor will facilitate a range of daily activities based on the medicine wheel with participants. These activities are to be considerate and supportive to participants with FASD and other disorders. Support Mentors are also responsible to pick up and prepare any materials and supplies as needed. Other duties as assigned by the Cultural and Day Services Manager to ensure that program activities meet the needs of participants.
**Housing Programs**
Providing direct service to program participants in a home includes: maintaining connections and healthy relationships, securing and maintaining safe housing, acquiring income and assisting with finances, navigating justice system, transport and environmental accommodations, assisting with medical and treatment regiments, supporting reconciliation when conflicts arise, traditional and cultural healing activities.Oshki-Giizhig is committed to supporting the development of strong and healthy communities. **Qualifications**
Post-secondary education in social work, social justice, Indigenous studies, health related and/or a combination of pertinent experiences in these areas. Experiences with cultural activities and understanding of Indigenous concepts of care and support. Knowledge of traditional teachings, experience facilitating group activities and understanding of indigenous concepts of care and support. Knowledge of disabilities, disorders, and mental health issues.
- **Driver’s License and access to transportation**

**Salary**: $16.00-$18.00 per hour
