Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Mold Technician/Backup Supervisor at our 591 Arvin site.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Mold Technician/ Back Up Supervisor is responsible for starting and stopping injection machines and robotics, troubleshooting and minor machine maintenance, changing and setting up of Molds, and backup to supervision. Knowledgeable of the injection process. Must be able to work all shifts, but primarily night shift. Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the ISO9001:2015 AND IATF 16949 Quality System.

**Responsibilities**:

- Mold start-up/processing/troubleshooting
- Start up machine and robots to prepare for daily production
- Grind and change Materials. Ensure proper use of regrind and regrind inventory minimized.
- In conjunction with the supervisor, Engineering, Quality and Maintenance; participate in the analysis and problem-solving production, quality problems and technical problems.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement. Keep a quality attitude in all production areas.
- Advise the supervisor of all production, or equipment problems.
- Routine maintenance
- Use hand and pneumatic tools to make small adjustments and repairs.
- Assist with minor maintenance on shift as trained: Hoses, fittings, vacuum, thermolators
- Mold change and setting
- Back up mold changers for vacation/absence
- Install and set up mold as per Tiercon work instructions
- Supervision
- Back up supervision, lunch, break, vacation/absence
- Ensure new employees trained and successful in role
- Work to achieve and exceed scrap, labour, uptime targets.
- Comply with all health, safety and environmental regulations, ensuring a safe work environment at all times through the enforcement and promotion of the Company's health and safety practices, Report potential hazards a immediately and keep accident levels minimized.

Qualifications:

- Post Secondary Education in a related field preferred OR equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Machine and process trouble shooting
- Injection mold experience an asset
- Forklift license and crane training an asset.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience or aptitude
- Reliable on primary shift and flexibility to cover other shifts
- Demonstrated mechanical experience (Minimum 2 years) and aptitude in an injection molding or similar manufacturing environment (Extrusion, blow molding, die casting) as a process, setup or maintenance technician role.
