- Plan games, activities for small groups of students based on areas of need identified by the teacher
- Develop and select materials and activities to scaffold learning
- Collaborate with the teacher to identify curricular content and vocabulary
- Work with small groups of students using games, formal exercises, and literature to compliment classroom instruction
- Provide small group, one-on-one or classroom support to assist in curriculum delivery
- Work with students to improve language skills and overall learning
- Build positive relationships with students by providing meaningful and current instruction
- Provide students with clear expectations and feedback in their language development
- Collaborate with teachers and school-based administrators to implement strategies, including technology supports, to improve learning
- Participate in the school community including staff meetings, school activities and professional development sessions

**Qualifications**:

- Fluency in French, both written and oral, is essential
- Completed minimum of one year in a post secondary, Education program
- Experience working in a school setting
- Understanding of the provincial curriculum and general knowledge of French Immersion programming within the Alberta Education system
- Knowledge of program planning, presentation, instructional and project management techniques and principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs including Excel, Outlook and databases
- General knowledge of the Division, department and school programs and operations
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to develop and deliver instructional material in French
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills are required in French
- Strong classroom management skills
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work in partnership with the teacher to plan and implement instructional activities
- Strong organizational skills are required to coordinate the many aspects of the work
- Strong planning, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Ability to build and maintain rapport and trust with students
- Flexibility regarding schedule and duties
