Clifton is currently searching for a full time, permanent Environmental Technician to join our Edmonton office. As an Environmental Technician, you will be a reliable, knowledgeable, and valued member of our Environmental practice team. You will focus on conducting safe field investigations and task-specific monitoring and sampling work.
**Responsibilities**
- Supervising or conducting field surveys, inspections, technical investigations and testing of construction materials, soil, sediment, groundwater, and other materials.
- Aiding in the conduction Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Conducting surface and groundwater sampling, waste/soil sampling, and air monitoring.
- Documenting installation of boreholes and monitoring wells including completion of comprehensive field notes.
- Recording field data and observations, collecting samples, and maintaining detailed notes.
- Preparing and formatting relevant portions of technical reports and letters.
- Preparing and writing reports; and
- Other duties, as required
**Required Qualifications and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree or technical diploma in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant field experience.
- Understanding of hydrogeological processes and soil structures.
- Knowledge of various sampling techniques and equipment.
- Experience performing environmental surveying and reporting.
- Ability to work independently on site, outside, and in remote locations for periods of time, tolerating variable weather conditions.
- Willing to work overtime, including long hours, night shifts or weekends, for potentially extended periods of time.
- Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
- Continued attention to safety and safe work environments, with a strong workplace safety orientation.
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract.
