The Citi Risk Management Country Officer, Canada manages and monitors risks across business and risk categories as applicable to the legal entities and holistically for the country. The job requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of all risk stripes as well as practical experience and insight of multiple business cycles (Knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is important in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. The role requires active collaboration and connectivity within the Risk organization to build and maintain an ecosystem to be responsive to the needs of customers in the Canadian markets and ensure connectivity to global capabilities. **Responsibilities**: - Oversight of the risk and control environment; ensure robust review, reporting and governance, run/co-chair risk management committees or other risk management forums (as appropriate for the legal entity or country), and provide 2LoD challenge in country governance and/or legal entity committees; - Review and challenge ICAAP and other regulatory stress tests and IFRS9 credit reserves where required by local regulation; accountable for ensuring completion of Risk inputs into ICAAPs and IFRS9 processes; - Review and challenge Risk Appetite Statements, including Risk Identification and Assessment, where required by local regulation or the Legal Entity Oversight Standard; - Oversee the implementation of local laws, rules, and regulations impacting the Risk organization; - Develops, in partnership with Citi global partners, Citi feedback to OSFI on proposed new risk related regulations - Meet regulatory expectations with respect to oversight of legal entity / country Independent Risk Management activities; - Maintain a strong risk and control environment in the country that is appropriately aligned with the broader firm; - Actively monitor limits; conduct periodic portfolio and deep dive analyses and maintain a forward looking view on top and emerging risks; - Assess the impact of country strategic or regulatory changes at a high level for Risk resource adequacy and planning; Foster coordination, teamwork, and talent management across all Risk teams within the country Qualifications: - 10 years Global, Regional or multimarket experience is a plus. - Managerial experience and ability to influence in a large global organization - Resourceful in driving efficacies by obtaining and leveraging Citi Risk management global resources and practices - Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities and ensure resources are properly aligned. - Proven leadership ability with excellent interpersonal communications This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
