How will you contribute?
The Communications Officer (Committees) is responsible for ensuring a proactive communications approach is put in place to support committees' work across multiple channels emphasizing the use of modern tools, web and social media platforms.

The incumbent works closely with key stakeholders in the planning and implementation of the communications plans to maximize the visibility of committees’ work. The Communications Officer (Committees) also works closely with the offices of committee members to ensure required communications products are prepared according to established timelines.
Open to
Employees of the Senate to staff one (1) permanent (full-time) position in the Communications Directorate.

This selection process may be used to staff determinate or indeterminate positions at the same level with similar requirements.

Prerequisites
- Post-secondary education in communications, journalism or in a related field or a combination of education and experience;
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in developing and implementing communications plans is a must;
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment;
- Experience with social media platforms on behalf of an organization/association/institution;
- Demonstrated ability to oversee resources on project deliverables across multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong writing skills;
- Knowledge of Parliament and the Canadian political landscape would be considered an asset.
