We are seeking a highly skilled Cabinet Millwork Shop Foreman to oversee the operations of a millwork shop where cabinetry and woodwork are manufactured. They ensure the production process runs smoothly, meeting both quality standards and deadlines.
- **Minimum 3 year’s experience in the cabinetry industry**:

- **Red Seal in Joinery is an asset**:

- **Supervising Production**: Oversee daily operations of the shop, including managing workflow and assigning tasks to workers to meet production targets and deadlines.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure that all cabinetry and millwork meet quality standards and specifications. Inspect finished products for accuracy, finish, and durability.
- **Managing Staff**: Supervise and mentor workers, providing guidance, training, and resolving any personnel issues. Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and enforcing company policies.
- **Scheduling and Inventory**: Create and manage production schedules, ensuring the shop has the necessary materials and resources. Maintain an inventory of materials and tools, ordering supplies as needed.
- **Project Management**: Collaborate with designers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed according to specifications and within budget.
- **Safety Compliance**: Ensure that all work is carried out following safety regulations and that the team adheres to safe working practices to prevent accidents.
- **Equipment Maintenance and operation**: Ensure that shop equipment is well-maintained and operating correctly. This may involve coordinating repairs or scheduling maintenance.
- **Experience with machines an asset**:CNC machine, edge bander, cold press laminate machine, Beam saw, forklift, table saw and other cabinet building tools.
- **Problem-Solving**: Address and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production, whether related to design, materials, or workforce challenges.
- **Documentation and Reporting**: Maintain accurate records of production progress, materials usage, and employee performance. Report on progress to upper management or clients.
- **Training and Development**: Assist in ongoing training to employees on new techniques, machinery, and industry trends.

Being a foreman in a cabinet millwork shop requires strong leadership skills, an understanding of woodworking and cabinetry, and the ability to manage both people and production efficiently. This is a shop that has been in business for 40 years, we need someone that can run it as well as the last 40 years.

Pay: $24.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 - 50 per week
