The Nursing Care Manager is an integral member of the McCormick Adult Day Program management team, providing leadership to nursing staff while also providing support to other disciplines within the day program setting as needed. This fast-paced and exciting position works closely with the Director and Adult Day Program Manager in developing, implementing, and evaluating all processes and procedures for staff and care, including the admission and discharge processes for day program clients. This position is also responsible for participating in the development, implementation, and review of interdisciplinary care plans for clients.

Being organized and having strong interpersonal communication skills are crucial, a sense of humour is a must. Commitment to the Relationship Centred Care model is essential, as this position provides role modelling, coaching, and support for a very dedicated and busy group of nursing staff. As well, the manager is essential in supporting caregivers and clients by building and maintaining relationships, utilizing a nursing lens and scope of practice.

This position may at times include the administration of medications, perform treatments, and be available to assist with the provision of personal care to the clients if needed. Not only does this manager supervise nursing staff, but is also a key contact with educational institutions providing orientation, training, evaluation, leadership and supervision of nursing (PSW, RPN, RN) students.

Must be able to perform all duties utilizing the core Values of McCormick Care Group: Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Collaboration.

Background/Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current CPR heart saver certificate
- Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification or willing to become certified required.
- Recent community nursing experience with the cognitively impaired population
- Comprehensive knowledge of various forms of dementia and ability to recognize and respond to complex situations
- Must adhere to the McCormick Care Group COVID-19 Immunization Policy
